Information Technology Senior Consultant

Performs as a consultant in highly specialized, leading edge information technologies and methodologies; Provides highly technical and specialized guidance concerning automated solutions to complex information processing problems; Performs elaborate analyses and studies; Prepares reports and gives presentations. The senior IT consultant manages the project work as defined by the government. Leads medium to large complex projects and major phases of very large projects. Provides highly technical and specialized guidance and solutions to complex IT problems; performs elaborate analyses and studies. The senior consultant also manages the fact-finding, analysis and development of hypothesis/conclusions, production of final reports and delivery of presentations. Responsible for ensuring that the project delivers to government expectations on time and to budget.

Level IV and V

 

IT Security Specialist (Intermediate)

Provide support to plan, coordinate, and implement the organization's information security. Provide support for facilitating and helping agencies identify their current security infrastructure and define future programs, design and implementation of security related to IT systems. Experience in several of the following areas is required: understanding of business security practices and procedures; knowledge of current security tools available; hardware/software security implementation; different communication protocols; encryption techniques/tools; familiarity with commercial products, and current Internet/EC technology. Ability to serve as Information System Security Officer (ISSO).

Level II and III

 

IT Security Specialist (Junior)

Provides assistant designs, develops, engineers and implements solutions to security requirements. Performs a risk analysis that also includes risk assessment. Supports, assists with coordination, and implementation the organizationÕs information security. A working knowledge of several of the following areas is required: understanding of business security practices and procedures; knowledge of current security tools available; hardware/software security implementation; different communication protocols; encryption techniques/tools; familiarity with commercial products, and current Internet/EC technology.

Level II and III

 

IT Security Specialist (Senior)

Oversees the efforts of security staff to design, develop, engineer and implement solutions to security requirements. Responsible for the implementation and development of the NSA IT security. Gathers and organizes technical information about an organization's mission goals and needs, existing security products, and ongoing programs in the MLS arena. Performs risk analyses that also include risk assessment. Provide support to plan, coordinate, and implement the organizationÕs information security. Provide support for facilitating and helping agencies identify their current security infrastructure and define future programs, design and implementation of security related to IT systems. A working knowledge of several of the following areas is required: understanding of business security practices and procedures; knowledge of current security tools available; hardware/software security implementation; different communication protocols; encryption techniques/tools; familiarity with commercial products, and current Internet/EC technology. Provides daily supervision and direction to staff.

Level III, IV and V

 

LAN/Desktop Support Technician

Provide support to monitor, install and perform maintenance on personal computers, laptop computers, software, and the networks. Provide support in responding to system user requests for assistance. Provide support for on-the-spot diagnostic evaluations, implementation of corrections, and training users in proper operation of systems and programs. Provide support to: install and provide basic support for approved PC software; perform upgrades to all computer platforms, train office staff on computers, maintain logs and inventory of equipment repairs, assist in administering all computer platforms as directed and assist in resolving any operations problems. Provide to the agency LAN Administrator with Server maintenance and administration.

Level I, II and III

 

Logistician

Prepare inventory for shipping, loading on pallets, attaching green tags, creating DD Form 1149 documentation, and shrink-wrapping of pallets. Working knowledge of DD Form1149 process for agency Cargo Shipping Services and Agency Stock System. Track shipments worldwide and interface with sites to establish Arrival on Site (AOS) notification. Working knowledge of laboratory environments with electrical systems, internal and external telephone communications, UPS, ventilation, safety, delivery of equipment, and laboratory management and utilization.

Level III

 

Messaging Operator

Some functions would include monitoring and management of NEWSSTAND, Matrix Switch, NEWSDEALER, Smartgard, Message Correction System, AVENUE, Defense Global Warning System, and AMHS Report and Message Processor messaging systems. Responsible for the health and welfare of the record message systems, and the monitoring of the delivery of record messages throughout the Intelligence Community. Monitor Messaging Bridge points, JWICS, CAT II and NGC Detrick. Responsible for CRITIC processing and management.

Level I and II

 

Network/Messaging Manager

Operates, manages and monitors the health and status of Record Message Systems and world-wide NSANet communications/hardware and software applications, troubleshoots and performs corrective action on LAN/CAN/WAN/Messaging devices, networks, systems, and related problems/issues, provides technical expertise and direction to contractor staff members and for the optimal performance and configuration of complex large-scale computer integrated networks/messaging systems at NSAW, to include the processing, management, and monitoring of the distribution of Record and CRITIC Messages throughout the Intelligence Community. Monitors and manages the operation of the NSANet networks, and NEWSSTAND, NEWSDEALER, Message Correction System, AVENUE, Defense Global Warning System, AMHS Report and Message Processor Messaging Systems, Messaging Bridge points, JWICS, CAT II, and NGC Detrick and related equipment/tools, (Matrix Switch, Smartgard, etc.). Oversees installation of new services to ensure compliancy with previously established processes and capabilities. Oversees network and messaging operation center. Orchestrates/monitors the maintenance/repair action of networks/systems/outages. Coordinates/corresponds with all responsible users and sites on network and messaging health and status issues. Supervises contractor staff.

Levels III and IV, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) required

Performance Fault Manager

Review and analyze the performance web reports, error emails, SLAs, equipment events reports / traps, Remedy, and other external sources to identify performance related problems with NSANet. Take corrective action for a timely resolution to the fault/incident, under PFM control / auspices. Research technical performance information. Review performance reports and graphs for accuracy. Analyze information from reports / graphs. Generate tracking ticket, (Remedy) for each problem. Interrogate device identified. Isolate and identify the problem area, (Collect and provide statistics / reports; Determine whether the problem area is ISP or ESP area of responsibility; Identify the responsible party, using various tools / databases; Contact the responsible party, Inform party of the problem).

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Required
